He and goalkeeper Maxym Koval were ball boys at Lobanovskyi’s last match. Serhiy has recalled that day:
- I remember me and Maxym standing behind the goal. Lobanovskyi got sick at the bench, and then the ambulance arrived. Several days later I got to know that he died. They named the street in front of Slavutych-Arena after Lobanovskyi. After some time I realized what kind of person football world lost.
