Serhiy Sydorchuk: “I’ve got new shin pads from Mykola Shaparenko”

Opponent committed a rough foul against the White-Blues skipper Serhiy Sydorchuk. He broke his shin pad and inflicted Serhiy deep lacerate wound. Upon the return to Kyiv doctors put Sydorchuk five stitches. We’ve called Serhiy to ask how he feels:

- Thank you, I’m doing better already. My leg hardly hurts. Today I’ve got a swelling. Doctor says it’s totally fine. When we returned to Kyiv after the match, they put stitches on my leg at Borys clinic.

I don’t wear any special bandage, only regular sticking plaster I change every day. Doctors will be doing me bandaging and following how I feel.

When that episode happened, it was painful, but I didn’t think of a bone fracture or another serious injury. Still when I saw the wound I thought it could be compound fracture. Anyway, then I stood up and even made a step. Fortunately everything is okay.

The tackle was very rough. Cvek even broke the shin pad. I guess the pad saved me. Things could be much worse.

By the way, Mykola Shaparenko has already given me new pads. He had the same ones.

Unfortunately I’ll miss the game against FC Mynai, but I’m suspended, so I’d miss it anyways. As for following matches, I hope I’ll step back into ranks soon.
