Serhiy SYDORCHUK: “I’m reconditioning gradually”

- Serhiy, scars you have on your hand will always remind you of the injury. What conclusions have you made?

- Of course I’m responsible for what happens during vacation, but that was an accident. I just wanted to play football with friends to stay fit… I guess after this injury I’ll try to avoid football when we have vacation.

- What did you feel following Dynamo sparrings from the sidelines?

- It’s unusual to go to the training camp and work mostly at the gym. If other players have a sparring I have two training sessions. Now I know what one feels recovering from serious injuries. I want everyone to avoid that.

- The surgery was unique in a way. Would recovery process have lasted longer if you had it in Kyiv?

- I’m not sure. When I came to Barcelona doctors told me the surgery would last one hour, but it lasted three hours and a half. That was shocking.

- What emotions did you experience after your first sparring at the second training camp?

- The game was difficult for me, especially considering that we opposed really good team. Still day after day things were getting easier for me. Today I feel quite fine.

- You haven’t played more than for 72 minutes in sparrings so far. Does that reflect your fitness?

- I was ready to play for 90 minutes against Benfica and against Litex. I’m reconditioning gradually. Actually I didn’t sit idle at the first training. I was doing the groundwork.
