We honor our veterans! Ihor Ivanovych Zaitsev turns 80!

He featured for the White-Blues only for a year and a half (1960-1961), but made his strong contributions into Kyivans historical wins.

Being a native of Moscow he moved to Kyiv in 1959 though he featured for FC Lokomotiv rather successfully at that time.

In 1960 Zaitsev performed for Dynamo, but the following year he lost the regular starting spot in Viacheslav Soloviov’s team.

After that Ihor Ivanovych played for other Ukrainian teams, including FC Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Avanhard Ternopil and FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk. In a couple of years he finished his career.

- How are you going to celebrate such significant date?

- I want to gather a company of relatives and friends. My daughter, granddaughter and former teammates will come. Andriy Biba, Volodymyr Muntian, Volodymyr Troshkin and other. It’s a great pleasure for me to communicate with them.
