Dynamo centre-back Taras Mykhavko, who was sent off in the first half of the Ukrainian Cup match against Shakhtar, apologised to the fans in a comment for UPL TV.
– We saw your emotions, and even tears. What would you personally like to say right now?
– First of all, I want to apologise to the fans because, due to my thoughtless action, I left the team with ten men. I understand that my red card had a significant impact on the course of today’s match. I also understand that my apology will no longer have any effect on the result. But I want to say that this is one of those moments in a career that becomes a lesson. I hope this will not happen again. Once again, I apologise to the fans and to the team, which I left with ten men.
– After being eliminated from the Ukrainian Cup, with many league matches still ahead, what is the team’s main task now? What is most important for you?
– Of course, the Ukrainian championship remains, and we will make every effort to finish as high as possible in the league table.
– Another derby is coming up, another classic clash with Shakhtar. Can you promise Dynamo fans now that the team will do everything possible to get revenge?
– Yes, of course. I promise that the next match against Shakhtar will be very, very intense. We will give one hundred per cent. After today’s unfortunate moment, I will personally draw the appropriate conclusions to make sure this does not happen again. I hope nothing like this happens in the next game against Shakhtar and that we see a completely different match.
