Taras Mykhavko: “We don’t give up, there’s still the second leg”

FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Taras Mykhavko has commented upon the Champions League qualification play-off round first leg against RB Salzburg (0:2).

- It must be biter to lose 0:2 considering that you had scoring chances?

- Of course it’s upsetting that we conceded although we could score, but unfortunately it is what it is. Still we don’t give up, there’s still the second leg. We’ll get ready and analyze our mistakes. This was only the first half.

- Salzburg tried to switch from defense to attack quickly in the first half while after the break there was less of that. How difficult was it to oppose Salzburg players individually?

- Of course Salzburg have a good team. They maintained the speed and things weren’t easy. We were ready, but unfortunately conceded in the first half which obviously had its impact. We didn’t give up and wanted to score to equalize at least. But then we conceded a penalty which had a psychological effect again. Never the less we aimed to score, but didn’t. We have the second leg and we’ll aim to succeed.

- How difficult was it to oppose Salzburg in the air?

- Not too difficult, but they have quite athletic players, so that wasn’t easy either.

- There were almost eight thousand fans at the stadium today. Did you feel their support?

- We did, every minute. We would like to thank fans for the support and of course the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the chance to play.
