Jan W. Wegereef from the Netherlands is to take charge of Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League Group F game between Manchester United and Dynamo Kyiv. He will be accompanied by assistant referees Wijnand Rutgers and Wilco W.A. Lobbert, with Bas Nijhuis acting ac fourth official. All three are from the Netherlands as well.
Born in 1962, the Dutch programmer took up refereeing back in 1980. He made his international debut in 1995 and since then he has been selected for the 1999 U-20 FIFA World Cup finals in Nigeria and 2002 FIFA World Cup finals in South Korea and Japan.
