Three Dynamo players featured in Nations League match against Hungary

On Monday, October 5, the national teams of Ukraine and Hungary met in Trnava, Slovakia, in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League, Division B, Group 2.

A little over a week ago, the Blue and Yellows narrowly defeated Hungary 1:0 in Budapest. Unfortunately, this time the Hungarians got their revenge.

In the 52nd minute, Hungary opened the scoring. Vitaliys played a fine through ball to Milan Toth, who beat Trubin in a one-on-one situation, shooting past the Ukrainian goalkeeper.

Ukraine equalized in the 83rd minute. Following a corner from Pikhalonok, Yaremchuk headed the ball into the net. However, just two minutes later, Ukraine conceded after a quick Hungarian attack, with Chinger converting a cross from the right from close range.

The match ended in a disappointing 2:1 defeat for Ukraine.

Two of the five Dynamo players named in the squad started the game: defender Taras Mykhavko, making his third appearance for the senior national team, and forward Matviy Ponomarenko, who played his sixth international match.

Mykhavko stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, while Ponomarenko, who was active throughout the first half, was substituted in the 60th minute. Another Dynamo player, midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalonok, came on as a substitute in the 70th minute. It was his 15th appearance for Ukraine.
