Ukraine’s U19 national team, coached by Oleh Luzhnyi, began their training camp in Albir, Spain, with a 1:2 defeat to Sweden in their first of three scheduled friendly matches.
All three Dynamo players called up for the camp started the game: Nazar Ivaskiv, Danylo Ohorodnik and Pavlo Liusin, who wore the captain’s armband.
Sweden took the lead in the 11th minute through Benjamin Brantlind. Ukraine equalized after the break when Oleksandr Diedov scored with an impressive bicycle kick following a cross from the right. Brantlind completed his brace in the 76th minute to secure Sweden’s victory.
Liusin and Ivaskiv played the full 90 minutes, while Ohorodnik was substituted in the 79th minute.
Ukraine will play their next friendlies against Germany on September 27 and Scotland on September 30.
