Three Dynamo players featured for Ukraine U18 against Sweden at tournament in Croatia

The Ukraine U18 national team (players born in 2008 or later), which is holding a training camp in Croatia, has completed its participation in the international tournament taking place in the city of Poreč.

In the final match of the group stage Ukraine faced their Swedish counterparts and suffered a 0:2 defeat. Both goals were scored in the second half. First, after a breakthrough down the right flank and a cross across the goal, Sadarangani beat the defender at the far post to send the ball into the net. Then, in the 70th minute, Saeed converted a penalty, doubling Sweden’s lead.

Ukraine had chances to reduce the deficit through Dynamo players Liusin and Andreiko but they were unable to overcome the visitors’ well-organized defense.

It’s worth noting that, as in the previous two matches, all three Dynamo Kyiv representatives called up to the squad took part in this game. Midfielder Pavlo Liusin and forward Ivan Andreiko both came on after the break and played the entire second half while midfielder Arsenii Fedorenko came off the bench in the 60th minute.

Earlier in the tournament Ukraine had lost 0:2 to hosts Croatia and edged Wales 1:0. After three matches played the Ukrainian team finished third in the standings.

The training camp for the Ukrainian U18 team will continue until October 16.
