Ukraine national team: debut call-up for Yarmolenko

Ukraine coach Oleksiy Mykhailychenko has named a provisional 22-man squad for the upcoming 2010 World Cup qualifying games against Andorra and Belarus on 5 September in Kyiv and 9 September in Minsk respectively.

The list features six Dynamo representatives: goalkeepers Oleksandr Shovkovskyy and Stanislav Bogush, defender Vitaliy Mandzyuk, midfield players Andriy Yarmolenko, Oleh Husyev and forward Artem Milevskyy. It should be pointed out that it is Andriy Yarmolenko’s first call-up to the national team.

Andriy Pyatov (Shakhtar), Stanislav Bogush and Oleksandr Shovkovskyy (both from Dynamo).

Defenders: Vitaliy Mandzyuk (Dynamo), Vasyl Kobin, Oleksandr Kucher, Vyacheslav Shevchuk and Dmytro Chygrynskyy (all from Shakhtar), Andriy Rusol (Dnipro), Hryhoriy Yarmash (Vorskla).

Midfielders: Oleksiy Gai (Shakhtar), Oleh Husyev and Andriy Yarmolenko (both from Dynamo), Yevhen Levchenko (FC Saturn, Russia), Serhiy Nazarenko and Ruslan Rotan (both from Dnipro), Anatoliy Tymoschuk (FC Bayern, Germany).

Forwards: Andriy Voronin (FC Liverpool, England), Volodymyr Homenyuk and Yevhen Seleznyov (both from Dnipro), Artem Milevskyy (Dynamo), Andriy Shevchenko (FC Chelsea, England).

The final list of footballers will be determined only after Ukrainian clubs play Matchday 6 fixtures of the national championship and UEFA Europa League play-off.
