On Tuesday, September 1, Dynamo U21 played another match in the Ukrainian Premier League-2. As part of the 4th round of the youth championship, Pavel Cherednichenko’s side faced Chernivtsi’s Bukovyna away from home.
From the opening minutes, the Dynamo players actively got into the game, trying to take the lead quickly. The White and Blues also pressed their opponents tightly in an attempt to force them into making a mistake in defence.
In the middle of the first half, Kyiv had two chances to take the lead. First, Liusin, who was left unattended by the opponents in the penalty area, fired accurately into the bottom corner, but Matsiuk dealt with the shot. Moments later, during a corner-kick routine, Lobko struck the crossbar with a volley. Bukovyna responded with Matyash firing wide from inside the penalty area.
In the 29th minute, Dynamo managed to find the back of the Bukovyna net. Supriaha received the ball following a lofted pass from Pashko, skilfully dealt with his opponents and opened the scoring. Soon afterwards, Lobko could have doubled the advantage – the forward found himself in a shooting position following a defensive error, but the ball slipped off his foot at the most crucial moment.
Bukovyna did not forgive Dynamo for the missed chance and equalised. Matyash struck powerfully from distance – after Roienko got a touch to the ball, it rebounded off the crossbar and completely crossed the goal line. The teams went into the break level.
After the interval, Dynamo continued to put pressure on Bukovyna, but almost conceded themselves. The hosts’ counter-attack ended with a shot from Horenko that narrowly missed the target.
The teams continued searching for the important goal, but neither side managed to create any significant danger.
In the 80th minute, Liusin once again came extremely close to scoring, but Matsiuk reacted in time to his header. Seven minutes later, Dynamo regained the lead. Liusin passed to Salenko, who unleashed a blistering long-range strike, leaving the Bukovyna goalkeeper with no chance. At the same time, Kyiv were reduced to ten men for the decisive minutes following Ivaskiv’s sending-off.
Being a man down did not prevent Dynamo from securing a 2:1 victory over Bukovyna. The White and Blues continue their perfect run in the UPL-2 championship, with 12 points from four rounds.
