On Saturday, September 3, FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Zoria Luhalsk in the UPL matchday 3 game.
The start of the season was different for the two sides. Zoria secured two victories in a row while Dynamo suffered 0:3 defeat against SC Dnipro-1.
Before this match Dynamo signed two halfbacks – Vladyslav Kabayev (formerly Zoria) and Kaheem Parris. Kabayev was already in the starting lineup this time.
Karavayev scored for Dynamo in the 4th minute but he was flagged offside. Three minutes later Zoria succeeded as a result of attack finished by ex-Kyivan Rusyn. After a rebound the ball hit the bottom corner.
Dynamo took the situation under control afterwards and created a few chances. Karavayev sent it over the bar with a heel kick. Syrota didn’t succeed with a header and then Matsapura cleared Kabayev’s attempt.
Still in the 35fth minute another Dynamo failure resulted in Zoria goal. Churko put it into the penalty area and Myshniov sent it into the net. Dynamo could concede the third one before the break as Rusyn eluded Karavayev but sent it over the bar.
Trying to save it Mircea Lucescu made three substitutions and Shaparenko, Sydorchuk and Harmash took the field. Dynamo started the second half in better speed. Kabayev missed from close range after cross by Karavayev. Then Buialskyi crossed from the left side and Vanat hit the target.
