FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC LNZ Cherkasy in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 5 game.
Dynamo started the match, as befits the hosts, from a position of strength. In particular,
Tymchyk attempted from distance, but the goalkeeper was there. Rubchynskyi, who made his debut for the White-Blues, missed from a promising position.
Visitors responded with the chance as well. Pasich crossed from the left side, but Momoh didn’t reach the ball. Then Pasich missed the target himself. Brazhko and Tymchyk kept shooting from distance. In the 19th minute Pikhalionok appeared inside the box and was fouled against! Yarmolenko took the penalty and converted from the spot – 1:0.
Vanat was really willing to score, but at first goalkeeper coped with his shot and then he didn’t succeed in one-on-one situation. Yarmolenko netted the ball with a follow-up, but referee disallowed this goal due to offside.
Dynamo gaffer didn’t make any substitutions right after the first half. The situation on the field didn’t change much. Goalkeeper parried the shot by Yarmolenko, shot by Vanat and block by the defender the ball went wide.
Vanat had a decent opportunity after he intercepted due to defender’s mistake, but didn’t manage to shoot properly. Yarmolenko had another great chance, but missed from inside the penalty area.
Visitors’ only chance in the second half was the attempt by Jashari from outside the box – the ball went next to the upper V.
Anyway, it’s 1:0 for Dynamo. The White-Blues haven’t lost a point in the UPL this season yet. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s men will play the next game on September 14 – against Zoria.
