FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Oleksandria in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 16 game.
A few days ago the two sides faced each other in Oleksandria to play the previously postponed. That game ended in a goalless draw.
This time Dynamo seized initiative early in the game, but could create any danger for a while. The White-Blues had the first opportunity in the 11th minute. Vivcharenko put a low cross into the penalty area, found Tymchyk, but Oleksandr sent the ball way over the bar.
Yet Oleksandria weren’t going to defend idly. Filippov attempted after cross by Kovalets, but missed. Bezerra obtained the ball in defensive half, dragged it forward and shot from 20-menter distance – a bit wide.
Eventually a set piece became decisive. Dynamo won a corner in the 37th minute, Buialskyi put a cross and Popov headed the ball in – 1:0.
Kyivans could increase the lead right away as Mykhailenko attempted after pass from Voloshyn, but missed. Anyway Dynamo managed to double the score before the break. Vanat obtained the ball in the right corner of the box, moved towards the center and hit the far corner – 2:0.
Right after the break the White-Blues netted the ball again. Vanat put a cross into the penalty area and Voloshyn hit the target one-touch. Unfortunately the goal was disallowed due to offside.
In a few minutes Oleksandria had a chance to pull one back. Kaliuzhnyi sent Kovalets one-on-one with Bushchan, but the latter lost the duel to our keeper.
Dynamo increased their lead again in the 56th minute. Mykhavko found Mykhailenko with a long ball, Mykola passed to Vanat and Vladyslav hit the target from close range – 3:0.
After that the air raid alarm went off and the teams had to take a break that lasted over half an hour. As the game restarted, Dynamo continued maintaining possession, but without much danger. Kovalets had a chance to pull one back after cross by Bezerra, but missed.
