FC Dynamo Kyiv claimed an important away victory over Polissya Zhytomyr in the central match of the 19th round of the Ukrainian Premier League in Zhytomyr.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Oleksii Hutsuliak converted a penalty after a handball by Maksym Korobov inside the box.

Dynamo responded just before the break. In stoppage time of the first half Matvii Ponomarenko equalized after a cross from Korobov, forcing the ball over the line from close range.

The decisive moment came in the 60th minute. After a midfield interception Oleksandr Pikhalionok sent Ponomarenko through on the right and forward finished confidently into the far corner to complete his brace and give Dynamo the lead.

Late in the match an air raid alert briefly interrupted play but after the restart Dynamo successfully held on to secure a 2:1 comeback victory, keeping the race for the top positions in the league table tight.
