Dynamo’s head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi had answered the questions after away match against Veres (0:1).
On Denys Popov’s condition:
- He started experiencing cramps so we decided to substitute him to prevent any potential complications. I don’t think it’s serious but we’ll see. Once we get to Lublin we’ll assess the players’ conditions in the morning.
On why the match wasn’t calmer for Dynamo:
- First and foremost – the result. It was a hot day and we knew Veres had adjusted their play in friendlies. Tactically they didn’t surprise us – we were ready. Any chances they had came from our own mistakes. We were closer to scoring a second goal than they were to equalizing. Vanat and Yarmolenko had great chances as well as some dangerous crosses we couldn’t finish. Like in previous seasons? playing in Rivne is never easy. Credit to Veres – they played well. But we got three points and move forward.
On potential new signings:
- We’re always working in that direction. But often players use Dynamo to negotiate better deals elsewhere. Talks begin, then suddenly there are family concerns or other issues, and in the end they join another club or demand significantly improved contract terms. That’s how it’s been so far.
On Voloshyn coming on in the second half to substitute Kabaiev:
- I never comment on individual players publicly. We’ll deal with that internally. With such a packed schedule we need to manage players carefully. Everyone must be ready to step in at any moment depending on the situation – tactically and otherwise.
