UPL. Dynamo – Obolon – 2:0. Report

FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Obolon Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 17 game.

The White-Blues took the situation early in the match and maintained possession, but shot by Kabayev and Brazhko were inaccurate.

In the 13th minute visitors got outnumbered. Vanat rushed towards the goal one-on-one with the keeper, Vovkun fouled and was sent off.

After that the match was mostly taking place in Obolon half. Brazhko sent the ball over the bar from distance, Vanat missed with a header. In the 28th minute Vanat finally appeared one-on-one with the keeper, but Kychak parried his strike.

Visitors defended very orderly and didn’t let Olexandr Shovkovskyi’s men score before the break.

In the second half Dynamo continued their attacking efforts. Syrota and Brazhko attempted from distance – Kychak did a good job.

Eventually the White-Blue succeeded in the 67th minute. Benito obtained the ball after rebound and hit the goal with a powerful strike – 1:0.

Obolon players got more nervous and kept fouling. Defender Moroz got two yellow cards within ten minutes and was sent off.

Then Lukianchuk fouled against Buialskyi inside the box and referee awarded penalty for Dynamo. Vanat converted from the spot – 2:0.

So, this is the fourth win in a row for Dynamo that puts then into the fifth place in the UPL table. Kyivans will play their next game after the winter break – on February 24 – against FC Metalist 1925 Kharkiv.
