On Monday, December 16, FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Veres Rivne in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 17 game.
Visitors were 9th in the league table with 19 points before the match while homes side – first with 40.
This was Dynamo final UPL game of the year. Visitors tried to dispossess and counterattack sharply early in the match. They also won a number of set pieces, but Kyivans defended carefully.
Tymchyk attempted from distance – goalkeeper parried. Eventually the White-Blues succeeded in the 23rd minute. Our team took a free kick in a quite unusual way, Pikhalionok passed to Buialskyi, Vitalii found Vanat and the later hit the target – 1:0.
Home side continued attacking. Buialskyi didn’t manage to shoot properly after pass from Vivcharenko. Veres had a chance to equalize late in the first half as they took a corner, but Bushchan saved twice.
After the break the game was spectacular as well. Haiduchyk attempted after cross from Kliots and missed just a bit. Anyway Dynamo had more opportunities. Voloshyn even netted the ball after free kick cross, but he was offside.
Kyivans had some really dangerous set pieces, but couldn’t increase their lead. Veres improved their shots on goal statistics in the second half, but didn’t manage to equalize.
So, it’s 1:0 for Dynamo. The White-Blues leave opponents behind before the winter break.
