UPL. Obolon – Dynamo. Preview

On Friday, August 4, FC Dynamo Kyiv will face FC Obolon Kyiv away in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 2 game.

The match will take place at the Obolon Arena. Kick-off – 17:00.

DYNAMO

Season start

The White-Blues were getting ready for the new season in Austria for three weeks, where they played quite a number of friendlies.

Kyivans started the UPL with a home win against FC Mynai. Despite the final score it was a tough comeback win. Dynamo were the first to concede, but stepped in front before the break due to the brace by Vladyslav Vanat. Later the White-Blues got outnumbered, but managed to score two more late in the game.

Lineup changes

A number of players have left the club to feature for different clubs on loan including Tomasz Kedziora, Justin Lonwijk and Eric Ramirez. Mykyta Burda and Artem Besedin are no longer Dynamo players. Anton Bol, Olexandr Yatsyk, Serhiy Buletsa, Ihor Horbach are also going to perform on loan. Meanwhile Volodymyr Brazhko has rejoined the club.

The major signing of this summer is the return of the legendary Andriy Yarmolenko.

OBOLON

Season start

In the first match I of the season Obolon played in a goalless draw against FC Kolos Kovalivka at the home ground. This was the debut UPL game for their head coach Valeriy Ivashchenko.

Lineup changes

Although last season Obolon completed the task and promoted to the UPL, a lot of players left the club.

One of the most well-known newcomers of the team is ex-Dynamo goalkeeper Olexandr Rybka.

Besides, Obolon have signed defenders Artem Vovkun and Dmytro Nahiyev, supporting midfielder Vladyslav Pryimak, winger Ihor Medynskyi, forwards Rostyslav Taranukha and maxym Yermolenko.
