A very touching interview with dedicated FC Dynamo Kyiv player Benjamin Verbic.
- Benjamin, what do you feel being back to Dynamo?
- I really missed the guys, missed Dynamo. I’m glad to be back and meet everyone again. Everyone remembers how we were separated, so this was very emotional. I’m looking forward to upcoming games. I hope everyone’s happy to see me too. It’s great to feel like at home.
- Is it true it was tough for you to get accustomed to Legia as your thoughts were about Ukraine and Kyiv?
- Sure, the first month was tough, especially Legia friendly against Dynamo. I know how the guys are suffering as many people they love are in danger. It was unusual to feature for another team. My thoughts always were about Dynamo. I’m glad to be back.
- The moment when you cried while hugging Denys Boiko was really touching…
- It was really hard. A nice song sounded after the game and I thought maybe that was the last time I played for Dynamo. But things happened differently and I came back. Ukraine has given me a lot. I’ll do my best to help Dynamo qualify for the Champions League.
- Has Mister talked to you after your return?
- Sure, we talked even when I was finishing the season with Legia. We discussed the training camp. I like working with him as I know what he’s capable of as a coach.
- You and Tomasz Kedziora featured for competing Polish clubs. Wasn’t that a problem for you?
- It wasn’t. We helped each other the way we could. We talked almost every day. Now we’re back together, sharing a room.
- What would you like to tell Ukrainians, warriors defending Ukraine?
- Stay strong, we’re with you. We’ll be helping you as much as we can on the football field. We’ll win here and you – there.
