Vincenzo PINCOLINI: “I wish Dynamo great wins as they deserve that”

His task was to create a special training system suitable for all the White-Blues teams. In late May of 2013 it was announced that Pincolini is leaving Kyiv.

- Vincenzo, why have you decided to leave Dynamo?

- There are both personal and professional reasons for that. My parents and my wife’s parents are already seniors and we are to take care of them. Our daughter has entered university in Italy. My leave-taking won’t have negative impact on the team. I’ve been working with younger colleagues who are ready to substitute me.

- Are you sure of that?

- Absolutely. Local specialists are graduates of the Institute of Physical culture. I’ve been following their work for a long time. We’ll keep communicating and discussing urgent problems even after my leave.

- There are rumors in the Internet that you are going to join Yuriy Semin who in currently the head coach of Gabala FC. Is that true?

- These are just rumors. I’m going to Italy to be with my family. I suppose I’ll work for Italian Football Federation.

- What was the reason for Dynamo bad play in the second part of 2012/13 season?

- You’d better ask the head coach about that. In general our players are not less skillful than in other teams. As for Ukrainians, they are even of higher level.

- Many specialists state that Dynamo need reinforcement…

- I think that the team can be enforced with two or three top class ambitious players. Besides in Dynamo there are enough good Ukrainian players such as Koval, Harmash, Yarmolenko.

- What can you tell about foreign players in Dynamo?

- Every Dynamo player is of top class. There are a good striker Ideye and promising halfback Haruna, for example.

- Are Italian talent scouts interested in Dynamo players?

- Such interest exists.

Fabio Capello told me once that Milevskyi is one of top five European strikers. AC Milan were interested in Khacheridi and SSC Napoli – in Koval.

- Several years ago you mooned over Aliyev and Milevskyi. Why haven’t they become leaders of the team?

- I estimated their professional skills. Still one should also have necessary personal qualities, like constant striving for perfection. Maybe there was no person to give them advice. When I met Oleh Husiev in 2007 I noticed that he is a very hard working team player. At the moment he is the leader of Dynamo.

- There were players in Dynamo who had constant injuries, like Yussuf, Ninkovic, Almeida. What were the reasons for that?

- Every case needs individual analysis. As I started working for Dynamo the amount of such problems reduced.

- What can you tell about peculiarities of Ukrainian football?

- There are a lot of talented young players in Ukraine but many of them can’t find the place where they belong. Sometimes Ukrainian coaches pay too little attention to their tactical skills.

It’s necessary to work on every element of football.

- What are your impressions of life in Kyiv?

- It’s a great city with very hospitable people. Every week I visited your main theatre. Opera is very popular in Italy.

- Can Ukraine become the EU member country in future?

- Personally I have noticed positive changes in the mentality of Ukrainians. I’m glad that I’ve spent the part of my life here. I wish you self-confidence and optimism. And of course I wish Dynamo great wins as they deserve that.
