Vitaliy Mykolenko: “Major occupations during quarantine are fishing and family dinners”

- One of these days I went fishing with my dad, besides I take care of our pets – cat Dusia and dog Baki. I also play Counter-Strike. I’m on the same team with Artem Shabanov and Mykyta Burda (smiling). We played 20 minutes before your call. It’s a nice way to relax after individual exercises we’re supposed to do. By the way, on Friday I went to our training complex and worked out at the gym. There was no one there.

- Is fishing your hobby?

- It is, but actually a new one. My father loves fishing and I joined him in autumn. We used to go fishing together when I was a kid, but back then I didn’t like just to sit there in silence. Now I enjoy it. This time we were fishing at Desna, not far from Kyiv, but didn’t catch a lot. I guess fish is on quarantine too (smiling). So mostly we enjoyed the beauty of nature and nice weather.

- How come you have two pets – a cat and a dog?

- We got our cat Dusia over eight years ago. Mom brought it from work. At first it delivered and was taken care of by volunteers. And then mom got it. As for our dog, beagle, we bought it two months ago and called Baki. So far they have fights with Dusia. Maybe they’re just playing. Anyway it’s great to have fun with them.

- Do you already know Dynamo plans for the nearest future?

- They’ll tell us on Sunday. I think we’ll be training in small groups. Frankly speaking I really want to work to stay fit. I miss games and our training sessions. When on vacation we can at least go somewhere, but now we should stay at home. The only benefit is that it’s a chance to spend more time with family. I live with my parents and value the time when we can do something together, especially our traditional family dinners.
