Every year on December 10 we celebrate World Football Day – a holiday dedicated to the most popular game on the planet which for millions of people is not just a sport but a part of life, character and emotion. Football unites countries and generations, bringing genuine excitement and a sense of community, for its language needs no words.
The history of this sport goes back centuries but in its modern form it took shape in England from where it spread across the world. Today football is not only about world-class matches but also about local teams, amateur leagues, children’s first training sessions and countless hearts of fans who experience every moment of the game.
Football teaches teamwork, resilience and respect. From childhood it inspires us to dream and to win, to face challenges without fear and to believe in our own strength. Many of world’s greatest footballers began their journey on simple playgrounds – proving that this game is accessible to everyone and opens doors to great achievements.
At a time when Ukraine is going through difficult trials football – like many beloved things – takes a back seat. But thanks to the courage and sacrifice of our Defenders we can continue to play sports, support our teams and bring joy to fans. We bow our heads in gratitude to those who defend our country, allowing us to live our everyday lives and pursue what we love.
On this day we sincerely congratulate everyone who loves the “king of sports” – players, coaches, fans and all who live this game. May football continue to bring you inspiration, drive, unforgettable emotions and faith in victory – both on the field and in life!
