Vladyslav Dubinchak: «I’ll need another week to reach optimal conditions»

Dynamo Kyiv defender Vladyslav Dubinchak spoke about his recovery from injury and team’s preparations for the match against Karpaty in Round 22 of the Ukrainian Premier League.

– Dynamo held a training session ahead of the match against Karpaty. National team players have returned and everyone is back together. What is the team’s mood like? Are you happy to see those who have been away?

– Of course when you don’t see guys for a week or two it’s always nice to catch up with them again, so to speak. So everyone is in a good mood. We’re working and preparing for the game.

– You missed the start of the second part of the season due to injury. At what stage of recovery are you now? Have you regained your conditions?

– I wouldn’t say I have yet. I’ve been training with the main group for a week now, working at 100% without any limitations. So I think I’ll need another week to reach optimal conditions. I believe that in a week I’ll be fully ready.

– Experts say that to regain form after an injury you need to train on the pitch without restrictions for as long as you were out. Is that really the case?

– May be. I missed the training camp where the foundation is built. I missed that period when the team was laying the groundwork for the second part of the season. So I’ll have to do a lot of individual work after training. I’ll try to reach my maximum form and then we’ll see.

– In the first round Dynamo drew 3:3 with Karpaty. How difficult is it to play against the Lviv side?

– Every game is difficult now, all matches are tough. It’s hard to win because everyone defends well and plays good football.

– Have you missed club football in general? After international matches both the Ukrainian league and foreign leagues are returning.

– Of course, I have. I want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
