Vladyslav Kabayev: “All our thoughts are of the battle for the title”

Vladyslav Kabayev, who scored the first goal of the away game against SC Dnipro-1, has shared his impressions of the match.

- We’ve managed to do what we wanted – win three points. We were losing, but demonstrated our character. In the second half we increased the speed and did a lot of stuff right. Anyway, as we get home we’ll focus on the next game.

- After poor first half Dynamo performed a real transformation and looked like a totally different team after the break…

- I don’t know why that happened. As for me personally, I didn’t sleep well. I know how often they shell Dnipro, so as the missiles were flying towards the city I was sitting in the hallway. As we conceded that goal things got tough emotionally. But then Oleksandr Shovkovskyi and Andrii Yarmolenko found proper words and we took the field with totally different mood. I was feeling angry in a good way. Even a draw was like a defeat for us. That’s why we really emerged as a different team.

- It was a tie until the stoppage time…

- One should give credit to Dnipro-1. They’re really good team. One can’t beat them easily. It’s great that everyone expects us to win all the time and we really want that, but difficulties happen.

- Late in the game there was a quarrel about the potential penalty and red card for Tymchyk. What do you think of those episodes?

- I don’t think someone cares about what I think. Maybe after the season ends I’ll say something (smiling). As for me, referee lost control over the game a bit. He didn’t award penalty, Tymchyk got mad and was sent off.

- Dynamo could let victory slip away in a stoppage time if it wasn’t for Bushchan…

- That happens when you reach you goal. That’s about mentality. You focus on preserving the score, move back and opponents create chances.

- Can the comeback win against a decent opponent become a kind of booster for Dynamo in the league race?

- We’re always focused on this race. We won 15 games out of 13 under the charge of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi and drew twice, so we’re on the right track. All our thoughts are of the battle for the title. We’ve lost a lot of points, but we still have a game against Shakhtar while they’re still to face Dnipro-1, Chornomorets, Polissia. We believe in ourselves and I hope we succeed.
