Vladyslav Supriaha: “The coaching staff gave me a chance, and I’m trying to make the most of it”

Dynamo forward Vladyslav Supriaha spoke to the club’s official website about his time with the White and Blues’ youth team, commenting, in particular, on the defeat to Karpaty in UPL-2 and the incident involving a penalty that was not awarded.

– Vladyslav, this season you have been one of Dynamo’s leaders in the UPL-2 championship. How would you assess your own performances and the team’s overall performance at this stage of the season?

– The coaching staff gave me a chance, and I’m trying to make the most of it. I’m scoring goals and helping the team. Of course, we are not at the top of the table yet, but we are doing everything we can to move into first place.

– You are one of Dynamo’s top scorers in UPL-2 with five goals. Are you satisfied with your scoring record?

– I want to score even more, and I’m working hard on that.

– The youth championship has returned to Ukrainian football after several years. In your opinion, how right was the decision to bring the tournament back?

– I think it is a great opportunity for young players. Matches against older opponents will help them progress. At the same time, it is important for more experienced players to maintain their match fitness.

– Dynamo have many young and promising players in the squad. What impression have they made on you?

– Only a great one! The lads train hard, give their all and want to improve. They have every chance of making it into Dynamo’s first team. Their future is still ahead of them.

– Your experience is undoubtedly valuable to your younger teammates. How often do they come to you for advice?

– Of course, the lads sometimes ask me for advice. I’m happy to share my experience and skills with them.

– Your career has had its share of ups and downs, and now you have been given an opportunity with Dynamo’s youth team. What motivates you when you step onto the pitch?

– I do my job. I try to give one hundred per cent and be useful to the team. That is the most important thing for me.

– Unfortunately, the match against Karpaty ended in a 0:1 defeat. At the same time, Dynamo had a significant advantage in terms of chances created. What went wrong in this match?

– We did not create many chances in the first half. Perhaps we were not sufficiently prepared mentally. We came out for the second half in a completely different frame of mind, and it went much better than the first, both in terms of our play and the chances we created.

– One of the key moments was your one-on-one opportunity in the second half, after which the referee, in the opinion of many, should have awarded a penalty...

– I’m convinced it was a clear penalty! I don’t understand what stopped the referee from making the right decision... At the same time, we can talk about it a lot, but we need to move on and win our next matches.

– How did the team react to the defeat?

– Of course, we are disappointed, but we take it one match at a time. Next up is the game against Polissia, and we will be focused solely on winning. We will learn our lessons from this setback and try to put in a strong performance against the Zhytomyr side.
