Unite against rasism

European football's governing body has forged a close partnership with the Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network, which comprises groups and bodies working against intolerance and discrimination across the continent.

UEFA has given considerable financial support to the FARE organization in recent years, and both bodies have cooperated in staging events, issuing publications, and using the massive public and commercial platform of Europe's biggest football matches to press home a message of zero tolerance for any form of racism and discrimination in favor of more respect for diversity.

Key points:

• UEFA has been a core supporter of the FARE network since a formal agreement was signed in 2001.

• Every year, in October, UEFA uses its premier club competitions to make its stand against racism by giving its undivided support to the FARE Action Weeks. At all 40 UEFA club competition matches, teams are accompanied onto the pitch by children wearing Unite Against Racism T-shirts, and team captains are also asked to wear Unite Against Racism armbands.

European football's governing body has a zero tolerance stance towards racism, and punishes those found guilty of such behaviour. UEFA President Michel Platini said: "UEFA is committed to tackling discrimination in football, and we encourage football fans to join us in our efforts to value respect for players, officials, opponents and fellow supporters of all nationalities, religious backgrounds, sexual orientation and ethnic origins. For over ten years, we have worked alongside the FARE network and will continue to strive towards unity in football."

Whether you will be supporting our Dynamo Kyiv team in the stadium or tuning in from your home, join the call against discrimination in football. Unite – and show that discrimination has no place in the game that we all love.
