Volodymyr Ozymaі: «We will not look for someone to blame, we all lost this match together»

Dynamo U21 midfielder Volodymyr Ozymaі commented on the youth team's away match against Zhytomyr's Polissia, in which the White-Blues suffered a 2:3 defeat:

– It is difficult to comment on what happened right now. I don't know whether everything was correct or whether the referee made the right decisions. But the score is on the board, and the result cannot be changed. I believe the team gave everything it had. We will not look for someone to blame; we all lost this match together, and we will analyse the reasons for the defeat.

– Dynamo were leading 2:0 at half-time. Did you feel the team were in control of the match, and what did you say to each other before the start of the second half?

– I believe we completely outplayed Polissia in the first half. During the break, we maintained the same attitude and came out for the second half with the same mindset. We did not change our tactics, continued pressing and stuck to our game plan. However, we began losing challenges and duels in our own half. I believe this was one of the reasons we conceded goals.

– Within three minutes, the referee awarded two penalties against Dynamo, after which the score was level. How much did these incidents affect the team's psychological state?

– Of course, such incidents affect the course of the game. But I cannot say that we stopped or ceased playing. We continued to put pressure on the opponents, created chances and should have converted them. It is disappointing that we lost, but unfortunately, we have to accept the result.

– What happened in the incident when our team conceded the third goal in the final seconds of stoppage time? Could anything have been done to prevent it?

– I cannot say yet exactly what happened in that incident or what caused us to concede the goal. We will review it during our tactical session and analyse it. But I want to emphasise once again that we will not look for someone to blame. We all lost this match together.

– Despite the disappointing defeat, the team scored twice in the first half and showed good finishing. What other positives can you highlight, and what needs to be worked on before the next match?

– As for the positives, we really did create enough scoring opportunities in the first half and, fortunately, converted two of them. As for what we need to work on before the next match, that will be determined by the coaching staff.
