It’s a first call-up to the national team for FC Dynamo Kyiv 20-year-old midfielder. Volodymyr made his UPL debut this season. At the moment he has 12 appearances for Dynamo in the UPL and Ukrainian Cup to his name. He’s also played 19 games for Ukraine U-16, U-17 and U-18.
Volodymyr has shared his impressions of this news:
- My impressions are great though this call-up was a bit unexpected. It’s up to the coach whether I’ve deserved it. I just try to do my job as well as possible. Featuring for Ukraine has been my dream since childhood.
How did I find out I’m on players’ list? I saw the news on FFU site. It was an incredible surprise to find my name on the list. The first to call and congratulate me were my parents.
As for Andriy Shevchenko, I haven’t talked to him in person yet. He came to our locker-room after several domestic league games, but mostly communicated with Serhiy Rebrov.
We must do our best on the field in two UPL games remaining this season and then focus on the national team. Frankly speaking, I’m a bit anxious. I hope everything will be fine.
