Dynamo’s youth team striker Vsevolod Chalyi spoke about «Ehite-and-Blues» preparations for the UEFA Youth League clash against Atlético Madrid and the second part of the season in general.
– The team is training at the camp and has played several friendly matches with varying results. How is the team feeling emotionally, psychologically and physically right now?
– The team is in quite good shape. Today’s training was productive. We did a lot of running and worked with the ball. We’ve already played a few matches and won the last one 3:0. It’s a pretty good result and we’ll continue progressing.
– Does the result in first friendly matches of the year matter? Or is the main goal to practice what’s being trained?
– I believe the result doesn’t really matter because the purpose of friendly matches is to progress, learn from our mistakes and improve.
– The focus now is specifically on the match against Atlético. In a few words, what is happening in training?
– Right now the main goal is the UEFA Youth League match. For many players this Round of 32 game will be a completely new experience. We will try to show ourselves at our best and represent Ukraine with pride.
– Andriy Yarmolenko visited the training session. Does having club legends around motivate you to work harder and reach the same heights as him?
– Yes, it’s a big motivation for us to progress in training and show what we can do. Also the first team’s head coach is watching us. This gives us a chance to make an impression and maybe one day join the first team.
