Vyacheslav Surkis, goalkeeper of Dynamo U19, commented to the club’s YouTube channel on the victory over Kolos U19 (2:0) in the Matchday 28 fixture of the National league U19:
— It’s nice to win and keep a clean sheet. We did our job because we have no right to drop points. Now we move on to the next matches.
— Dynamo have the best defense in the National league U19, conceding only 14 goals in 28 matches. What is the key to such defensive reliability?
— First of all, it’s the credit of the whole team. Everyone, from defenders to forwards, works defensively and helps out. At the necessary moment anyone can save the goal. Everyone is working toward winning the championship.
— Toward the end of the season the team faced a considerable number of injuries and players from younger age groups had to be called up. How did this affect the team?
— This is football - it happens when a team has many injured players. Considering that I’d like to highlight Dmytro Solomchenko, he did very well. He had his first training session with us just a day before the match against Shakhtar and eventually played very well in one of the decisive games.
— At the end of the season the team is going through a stretch of three matches in eight days. Does the motivation to win increase during such a period?
— The motivation is always there regardless of how busy the schedule is because every time we step onto the pitch, we play to win. Unfortunately at the start of the second half of the season we dropped few points. At the same time we beat Shakhtar twice so now we just hope our rivals will also lose points and that we will become champions.
