Dynamo U19 forward Yaroslav Buravtsov commented on the away match against Zhytomyr’s Polissia, in which the White-Blues suffered a 0:2 defeat:
— Nothing worked for us today; we did almost nothing in attack.
— What was the coach unhappy with? What did he tell you after the match and at halftime?
— At halftime, we talked about trying to get back into the game, to make a comeback. And at the end, he simply said that sometimes this happens.
— Did conceding a goal early in the match greatly disrupt your plans and affect the further course of events on the pitch?
— The first goal did not change anything at all. But the second one did have an impact. After it, we tried to make a comeback, had more possession in the second half, but unfortunately could not make the most of our chances and failed to score.
— So after conceding the second goal, you tried to change the situation?
— Yes, of course. But the opponent played reliably in defence. In the second half, they simply sat deeper near their goal and launched counterattacks. There was even a moment when they hit the crossbar. We controlled the ball more, but our finishing let us down.
Of course, the mood is not very good. It is unpleasant to lose, especially when this is the first defeat of the season.
— Polissia are not among the leaders of the league table. Did you expect them to put up such resistance?
— Yes, we expected them to be a good opponent. We knew it would not be easy, and we prepared for this match and understood that the opponent could put up serious resistance.
— What will you work on before the next match against FC Lviv?
— We need to work on reliability in defence and finishing in attack – it’s as simple as that.
