UEFA Youth League. Dynamo – Chelsea: presenting the opponent

Triumphal way of young “pensioners”

Last season Chelsea youth team won two significant trophies. On April 13 2015 London side defeated FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Youth League final 3:2.

After that the Blues were victorious opposing Manchester City FC youngsters twice (3:1 and 2:1) and won the national cup for the second time in a row.

Coach

The head coach of Chelsea youth teams is 46-year-old Adrian Viveash. He’s been working for the club since 2011.

Speaking about the current UEFA Youth League campaign Viveash stated: “Everyone wants to defeat reigning champions. Our priority at this stage is to get out of the group”.

No defeats so far

Chelsea started current UEFA Youth League season with home victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv FC – 3:0. In the second game Viveash’s men scored three against FC Porto away, but then conceded three too, so the match ended in a draw – 3:3.

The best striker of the team and our group is Chelsea forward Kasey Palmer with three goals to his name.

Getting up for the game against Dynamo seriously

Considering dramatic draw in Porto before the match against Dynamo Adrian Viveash said:

- Away match against Porto has proved we need more discipline. Now we are in for two matches against Dynamo, who haven’t suffered a single defeat. Games against Kyivans will be very important to us.
