The Ukraine U19 national football team (players born in 2007 or later), led by Dmytro Mykhailenko, played out a 1:1 draw against Romania U19 national football team in the third round of the Elite round of qualification for UEFA Euro 2026.
Ukraine had already secured qualification for the final tournament before this match but still delivered a solid performance to top their group.
Defender Kostiantyn Hubenko, a representative of Dynamo Kyiv, played the entire match. He made a key impact by providing an assist to Kamenskyi in the 85th minute, helping Ukraine equalize late in the game. Notably Hubenko had previously come off the bench in the two earlier wins against Northern Ireland U19 national football team and Kazakhstan U19 national football team.
With 7 points Ukraine finished first in their group and, along with the other Elite round group winners, qualified for the final tournament. They will join hosts Wales U19 national football team in the UEFA Euro U19 2026 finals, scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 11.
The final tournament draw is set for April 16.
