- Welcome to Kyiv, Gerson! Is this the biggest club in your career?
- Yes, it’s a challenge for me. Dynamo are great club I’ve known since childhood. Now I’m here and feel very positive.
- Do you know any former Dynamo players?
- Of course the first one who pops into my head is Andriy Shevchenko – great player and coach. It’s a serious motivation for me to show what I’m capable of and to keep working.
- Did you take Dynamo offer at once?
- I always take some time to think. I thought this through, talked to my manager. I felt it’s a right decision. I’m happy to move forward.
- In Asia they play different football. Will you get used to Ukrainian league?
- I’m sure I will. I like new challenges. They motivate me. I’m a leader by nature. I know Dynamo have a great team and I know that if I do my best everything will be fine.
- You can perform in several positions, but which is your favourite one?
- I like to play as left winger, but first of all I care about the team. I can perform in the center or in the right wing. I’ll do everything I can for Dynamo.
- Why did you pick squad number 22?
- It’s a new number for me. Of course I could choose only among available numbers. My attitude is: new number – new challenge.
- Supporters say jokingly that your own goal in the game against Ukraine was a part of the deal with Dynamo…
- Own goals are part of the game. I headed that ball as I thought Ukrainian player behind me would send it into the net. But I hit my own goal. I’ve already left that behind and I’m moving on. Such episode could happen in any game. I’ve made conclusions. Such lessons make us stronger.
- You’ve opposed Ukraine national team. What do you think of Ukrainian players?
- We knew Ukraine are really good team. I know that many Ukrainian players perform abroad, so it’s not easy for me to form some particular opinion about Ukrainian league so far. On the other hand, there are also many Ukrainian internationals, who feature here. People know your players outside Ukraine.
- Do you know about the rivalry between FC Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Dynamo Kyiv?
- I do. Now I’m here and we’ll fight to win.
