SL Benfica head coach Jorge Jesus took part in the press conference before the Champions League group stage matchday 1 game against FC Dynamo Kyiv.
- We’re happy to start this Champions League group stage. This is the competition we aimed for. Dynamo have good team, just like others. I treat our opponents similarly. Dynamo have five internationals. Recently they drew against France (1:1). Still we also have everything we need to fight for victories.
As a coach, before the game I feel my team is superstrong, motivated and able to win. We coped with complicated situations in previous matches and we must do well in the upcoming game. We go to Kyiv with confidence.
It would have been wrong to consider Dynamo are the weakest team in our group. They have the most highly qualified coach in the world. I admire Lucescu. They have five internationals. This means we’ll oppose a great team. But we can win. I treat Dynamo just like Barcelona and Bayern.
Most coaches have the same approach as Lucescu. They believe in their system and work with it. He’s the most titled coach in the world and has proper view of the game. We’ll oppose decent team, like Benfica, Barcelona and Bayern. I don’t think Dynamo differ from Barcelona and Bayern a lot. They’re good at build-up play and we need to deal with that.
