Both matches will take place at the NSC Olimpiyskyi on September 3 and 8. The Yellow-Blues head coach counts of four FC Dynamo Kyiv performers: defender Yevhen Makarenko, midfielders Roman Bezus and Oleh Husiev and forward Andriy Yarmolenko.
Denys Harmash and Yevhen Khacheridi won’t help the national team due to injuries. Before the training session Andriy Yarmolenko answered journalists’ questions:
- Of course it’s a pity that we have so many injured performers, but things happen in football.
- Ukraine opponents used to beware of wingers Yarmolenko and Konoplianka. Now there’s only one of you left. Does it give you additional responsibility?
- (Smiling). I think every player has great responsibility when he joins the national team as we defend the honour of our country.
- Do Moldova and Slovakia have similar game style?
- Frankly speaking we haven’t analyzed Slovakia play yet. Anyway I think newcomers, who’ve been called up to the national team, will help us.
- What do you expect from Euro-2016 qualification and the first game in particular?
- Of course we want to win. I also hope that many spectators will come to the stadium and we’ll gladden them.
- Last season you had to do something outstanding and fight for victory in every match. Now the situation isn’t critical. Does it influence you psychologically?
- We must focus on every game in particular and start playing well with the first match. We shouldn’t put that away for later.
