The UEFA Referees Committee has announced the referees for the UEFA Champions League matchday 5 fixture Arsenal (London) vs. Dynamo (Kyiv) to be played on Tuesday 25 November.
The match will be handled by 42-year-old referee Alain Hamer from Luxembourg. Having only started refereeing in 1982, Hamer was taking charge of top-flight matches in his native Luxembourg before the turn of the next decade. A bank manager from the town of Waldbillig, he was awarded his FIFA badge in 1993. Since 2002, Hamer has worked at the highest UEFA level. In addition to covering league games in his homeland, Hamer also experienced domestic football in France and Belgium.
Alain Hamer will be accompanied by three compatriots – assistant referees Francis Crelo and Christian Holtgen, and fourth official Luc Wilmes. Robert Sterckx from Belgium and Athanassios Briakos from Greece will act as UEFA delegate and UEFA referee observer, respectively.
