Arsenii Fedorenko: «We need to improve both as a team and individually»

Midfielder of Dynamo Kyiv U19 Arsenii Fedorenko spoke about team’s preparations for the second half of the season which “White-Blues” are holding in Turkey.

- It’s been a tough training camp period - the team has been working hard and preparing. What stage are you at now? Are you already ready for the official league matches?

- We still have some time to prepare for the championship - there’s another week left. But the team has gone through a lot during this camp, both physically and mentally. You could say we are ready.

- These are the first training camp for Pavlo Cherednichenko as head coach. In your opinion what has changed? Have you personally learned anything new?

- Coaching staffs may change but demands remain the same. So it’s all about hard work - work, work and work again.

- Is the main demand about results? Or is it about individual improvement to get closer to the first team?

- Both individually and as a team. Because if there is a strong team there will also be individual development.

- Of course it’s realistic. I believe that’s exactly how it will be. We are Dynamo - we have to win constantly. That’s our level and we must keep proving it. I believe we will become champions.

- The team has been in Turkey for almost a month now. How have you changed individually during this period? What have you improved?

- It’s hard for me to say. Coaches can see it better. You’d have to ask them.

- For young players are training camps more of a challenge or something enjoyable? There are many sessions, sometimes two a day, friendly matches but no official games. What does going through a training camp mean for young footballers?

- First of all it’s about character. As for whether it’s enjoyment or a challenge, it depends on the conditions. I think for us it’s more enjoyable. Yes, it was tough but now it’s getting a bit easier.

- What were the best and the toughest moments of the camp?

- The best moments are the game-based sessions. I don’t really like running drills - that’s hard work.
