Arseniy Fedorenko: «My goalscoring instinct worked, I was in the right place and scored»

Dynamo midfielder Arsenii Fedorenko, who plays for both the U21 and U19 teams, scored another goal in the away National U19 League match against Kolos, opening the scoring in the game. This goal moved our player to the top of the goalscoring chart, while the “white-and-blues” won 2:1. After the match, Arsenii shared his impressions of the game:

– In the first half, we had the initiative and, overall, we managed to do everything we had planned and intended to do. After the break, we dropped a little deeper, and Kolos managed to level the game. You always want more: for us to score more and concede as few goals as possible, or not concede at all. We will work on that.

– You opened the scoring in the match. Tell us how that attack developed and how you managed to finish it with a goal?

– There was a cross, and I realized that I would no longer be able to reach it. So, relying on my instincts, I went for the rebound, and the ball bounced exactly where I was. From there, it was a matter of technique and skill. My goalscoring instinct worked, and I found myself in the right place, where the ball was.

– Interestingly, you already scored against Kolos U19 last season. Can we say that this team has once again become a lucky opponent for you?

– I would like there to be more such lucky opponents, so that I can score against everyone, not just Kolos.

– This is already your sixth goal in your sixth match for Dynamo U19. How pleasant is it to have such a scoring record, and what, in your opinion, helps you score regularly apart from your goalscoring instinct?

– Working on myself. You always have to be ready so that when a chance comes, you can take it. Other than that – nothing else.

– You also have four goals in five matches for Dynamo U21. How important is it for you to get playing experience at two levels at the same time, and do you feel that these matches help you progress?

– The more playing time you get, the better. It is nice to play at both levels and gain experience that will be useful in the future.

– You are currently leading the U19 championship's goalscoring chart. Do you have a personal goal of competing for the top scorer award, or is the team's success and the fight for first place the main priority?

– First and foremost, of course, is the team's championship title – I really want the team to win it. And I will try to help as much as possible – with goals, assists, and in general with everything I can.
