FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Mariupol away within the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 13.
A few days ago these sides opposed each other in the national Cup round of 16 and the White-Blues won 2:1. Domestic league match also wasn’t expected to be easy for Kyivans.
The game didn’t start really well for Mircea Lucescu’s men. After cross into the box, Sydorchuk handled the ball and, upon checking VAR, referee awarded penalty. Myshniov made it 1:0.
Still visitors equalized less than in a minute. Sydorchuk attempted from distance and hit the far corner – 1:1.
Home side responded with a counterattack that finished with the shot by Kashchuk. Fortunately Bushchan coped with that.
Eventually Dynamo found a chance to take the lead. De Pena put a low cross into the penalty area, Tsyhankov hit the post, but Shaparenko was the first to reach the ball and send it into the net – 1:2.
Shortly after that Mariupol could equalize. Mykytyshyn unleashed a shot from outside the box and hit the post. So did Tsyhankov a bit later.
After the break, Dynamo continued being active. De Pena and Tsyhankov missed the target, but Sydorchuk hit the upper V – 1:3.
Kyivans didn’t stop and tried to increase the lead. Mariupol keeper parried the free kick by Buialskyi. Harmash missed from the six-yard-box line. Buialskyi appeared one-on-one with goalkeeper and tried to score with a chip, but the ball went wide.
Mircea Lucescu’s men were punished for missed opportunities in a stoppage time as Klymenko made it 2:3.
Anyway, the final score is 3:2 for Dynamo, who remain at the top of the league table.
