- Dynamo are lacking only a bit behind FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the UPL, besides you’ve reached the Europa League round of 32… Do you think the first part of the season was positive for your team?
- I guess it was. We still fight for domestic league title and we’ve won the Europa League group. We’ve also reached the Ukrainian Cup next stage and we want to take the trophy back to Kyiv.
- Was the defeat against BSC Young Boys the biggest disappointment of the season? What happened to the team after confident home win?
- As for me, we weren’t focused enough away and kept the first leg score (3:1) in mind. We thought we would reach the following stage, but Young Boys did pretty well. They scored twice and outplayed us. That happens in football. Anyway, it’s good we perform in the Europa League quite successfully.
- This season many youngsters feature for Dynamo. What do you think of that?
- It’s a great experience for young players as working with the first team they get more confident. They are Dynamo future.
- They often say it’s important for striker to have goal-scoring flair. Can it be developed?
- There’s no particular recipe. Position choice is vital for striker. One must be able to anticipate where the ball’s going to go. Anyway, victories of the team are more important than my goals to me.
- How does Olexandr Khatskevych differ from his predecessors?
- I wouldn’t like to discuss former coaches. We’re working with Olexandr Khatskevych and I think his tactics is quite effective.
- Have you finished your career in the national team for good?
- Yes, I have. Still I follow performances of the team on TV. Unfortunately they haven’t qualified for the World Cup. Now they should focus on qualification for the next African Cup of Nations.
- Does your family live in Belgium? How often do you see your wife and kids?
- Usually they come when children have holidays at school, so I don’t see them often enough. In Kyiv we can walk through the city, go to some restaurant, mall or just stay at home and spend time together.
