FC Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Denys Boiko has told about preparations for the charity match against FC Flora and about atmosphere in the team.
- On May 13 we’ll play in Tallinn. This day our club turns 95. That’s why this game will be symbolic to us. But we all realize what times we’re going through, so unfortunately there will be no celebrations.
We’re having a charity tour abroad, but, frankly speaking, we all want to return to the native city. We don’t have any emotions to celebrate, but still it’s a significant date, so we’ll do our best to gladden our supporters.
- A lot of sports infrastructure, including stadiums, has been destroyed. What do you feel when takin the field in these charity matches?
- Of course these emotions differ from those you have in ordinary games. As you know, our club has sad history of occupation during the Second World War. Our country and our people won’t let this happen again. These days we do our best in every game to make people feel at least a bit positive.
- Who supports you, players, these days?
- My family, of course. Besides, we’re all totally united inside the team. We talk all the time on different subjects, support each other if someone has issues. We’re united as never before.
We also keep in touch with our soldiers, who defend our land. When they tell us they have a small victory this or that day, when they tell they destroy a couple of dozens of those beasts, we feel better and realize we’re moving in the right direction.
