Dynamo U19 defender Denys Dykyi commented on the home match against Veres Rivne, part of the rescheduled Matchday 16 of the National League U19, where Dynamo drew – 2:2:
- I think we lacked a bit of quality in the final phase. In my opinion we played a very good first half, created good chances but were missing the final pass, the final shot or something else. And at the end, when we were leading 2:0, we dropped too deep – and the result turned out not very good for us.
- When the score became 2:0 it looked like the team was confident, converted two penalties and should have calmly seen out the match…
- I think we just shouldn’t have committed a foul at the end. It’s football, anything can happen what can you do - that’s how it turned out.
- For young players, who have just come from the Academy and are still learning, is this a useful lesson?
- Yes, I think they need this kind of experience. In football everything happens – you can’t avoid mistakes, that’s impossible. It just happened that we let the win slip away.
- What can you say about the opponent’s game? What, in your opinion, brought them the result?
- They just hit long balls forward and fought for them. You can, of course, play against such a tactic – they simply got a bit lucky at the end.
- You already played Veres in the first round, winning 1:0. Has their team changed much since then - in style or personnel?
- No, their style hasn’t changed. They played the same way.
- How do you feel about the match being moved from mid-December? Is it better to play now rather than in winter?
- I think it was a good initiative for Veres to come to Kyiv now so we could play during the international break. We have a very tight schedule, lots of matches, so I believe this was a good idea.
- You missed several matches and now you played the full 90 minutes again. What was the reason for this?
- It’s because of the limit on players born in 2006. That’s why I didn’t play. Today coaches gave me a chance to come out and play the whole match but the result wasn’t very good – nothing can be done about it now.
