There is less and less time left before another “Classico” between Dynamo and Shakhtar. The giants of Ukrainian football will meet on the pitch in a Matchday 26 game of the Ukrainian Premier League.
On the eve of the match Dynamo held a training session at the club’s base in Vita-Lytovska as part of their preparations for the clash with Shakhtar.
After a warm-up in the gym “White-Blues” moved to the football field. There players and coaching staff congratulated fitness coach Vitalii Kulyba on his birthday - he turned 41 today. The birthday celebrant was greeted with a traditional celebratory corridor.
After that the main part of the training session began. First players worked on improving their speed and performed running-related exercises.
Then Dynamo players moved on to drills with the ball. Outfield players were divided into three groups. According to the task each group had to complete a passing combination ending with a shot on small goals. Teams competed with each other for speed and accuracy, and the losing side had to perform a penalty task.
Later players worked in a small-sided game format using a neutral player. The squad coached by Ihor Kostyuk practiced game situations with each team having its own specific objective.
Finally attacking players separately practiced shooting while defenders worked on defensive actions.
It is worth noting that the match Dynamo - Shakhtar will take place on Sunday, May 3, at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium. Kick-off is at 18:00.
