FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu has commented upon the UPL matchday 13 game against FC Kolos Kovalivka (0:0).
- We got more aggressive and creative after Popov was sent off. Our players looked as a team in the second part of the second half. They were fighting and creating chances.
Visitors’ goalkeeper did a really good job. Generally they defended orderly. I asked our guys to play as fast as possible and elude contact.
There were some referee’s decisions that could have been better. There were at least three counterattacks we could concede after and those included three fouls referee didn’t notice.
- Why did your team lack aggression for 75 minutes? Is this about fitness or mentality?
- Kolos defended very well while we lacked a finisher. We were supposed to switch wings more frequently and put more crosses along the goal line. We didn’t make right decisions sometimes.
When facing a team with such a dense defense, you need to attempt from distance. We didn’t do that enough.
Anyway, the season is on. Each team can win or lose points. Today we saw how important the role of Shaparenko is. That’s the player we lack.
