On Thursday, October 23, Dynamo Kyiv will play their second match of the UEFA Europa Conference League main stage facing Samsunspor away in Turkey.
The team’s journey to Turkey began on Monday evening. The White-Blues took an overnight train to the Polish city of Chełm then traveled by bus to Lublin.
In Lublin - which serves as Dynamo’s home base for European competitions this season - the team held a training session on a pitch near the Arena Lublin stadium.
On Wednesday morning Dynamo flew from Lublin to Samsun arriving in the afternoon. After lunch and some rest the team attended the traditional pre-match events. First head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi and goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret spoke to the media during the official UEFA press conference.
Afterwards Dynamo conducted a training session at the Samsunspor Stadium where the match will take place. According to UEFA regulations the session lasted no more than one hour with the first 15 minutes open to the media.
It should be noted that several players did not travel to Samsun due to injuries: defenders Oleksandr Tymchyk, Vladyslav Dubinchak and Kristian Bilovar, midfielder Mykola Shaparenko, winger Ángel Torres and Andriy Yarmolenko who missed the trip because of a cold.
Goalkeeper Vyacheslav Surkis, defender Vladyslav Zakharchenko and forward Matviy Ponomarenko stayed behind to play for Dynamo U19 which claimed a victory over Sweden’s Brommapojkarna in the UEFA Youth League.
The Samsunspor vs Dynamo Kyiv match will kick off on October 23 at 22:00 (local time).
