Events
On January 12 Kyivans had to play the Champions Cup quarterfinal first leg against Celtic FC. Our team suffered away defeat 3:0. Second leg took place in Tbilisi as weather conditions in Kyiv were severe. The game ended in a draw 1:1.
At that moment Dynamo key performers couldn’t help the White-Blues as they were preparing for the World Cup. Thus the head coach of the team Viktor Maslov gave such reservists as Rudakov, Puzach, Byshovets and Muntian a chance.
In 1966 Dynamo became the Soviet Top League winners six matchdays prior its finish, besides Kyivans won the USSR Cup.
