On Tuesday, September 30, Ukraine's national team coach Oleksiy Mykhailychenko announced the squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Croatia to be held on Saturday, October 11, in Kharkiv at the Metalist Stadium. Current list of candidates underwent some changes comparing to the previous matches against Belarus and Kazakhstan.
21 footballers started their training session on Monday, October 6. Four Dynamo players are invited to the team. These are goalkeepers Oleksandr Shovkovskyy and Stanislav Bogush, defender Taras Mykhalyk and midfield player Oleksandr Aliyev. At the same time the list doesn’t feature Andriy Nesmachnyy and Artem Milevskyy.
Apart from Dynamo footballers named in Ukraine's squad to play against Croatia, five Dynamo foreign players have already joined their national teams as well. Ognjen Vukojević is amongst announced players to appear in Kharkiv, when Ukraine take on Croatia. One more match between Croatia and Andorra will be held in Zagreb October 15.
Finland are to play two important matches against Azerbaijan and Russia. Roman Eremenko is getting ready for the encounters together with his national team-mates.
Maksim Shatskikh is set to play for Uzbekistan in their FIFA World Cup-2010 Round 4 group qualifier against Japan Oct 15 in Saitama. Preceding the game, Uzbeks will also meet South Korea in a friendly.
Striker Ismaël Bangoura has already departed for the training camp, where Guinea get ready for the match against Kenya to be played on Sunday, Oct 12. Pape Diakhaté is no exception either. The Senegalese defender is ready to help his compatriots in the match vs. Gambia.
Miloš Ninković, Ayila Yussuf and Badr El Kaddouri are invited to their national teams as well. But their appearance in the fixtures has been called into question because of their injuries.
On Thursday, October 2, Ukraine Under-21 team coach Pavlo Yakovenko has named the squad for the upcoming friendly games against the Netherlands and Portugal to be played on October 10 and 14, respectively.
The coach has called up 26 footballers for the training session. The list of candidates included five Dynamo players, such as Andriy Fartushnyak (defender), Mykola Morozyuk, Roman Zozulya (both midfielders), Artem Kravets and Andriy Yarmolenko (strikers). Dynamo footballer Volodymyr Lysenko, who currently plays for FC Arsenal Kyiv, has joined the U-21 team as well.
The match between Ukraine and the Netherlands will be held on Friday, October 10, at Obolon stadium in Kyiv. The kick-off time is 3 p.m.
